Snow is for the birds

It’s been quite a while since I’ve had a blog post that was mostly about photos. I’ve got a ton of stuff from the last 4 months hasn’t seen the light of day yet. So, in the spirit of a photo post, here’s some shots from today.

It snowed for most of the day today, and the Robins were not all that thrilled with it. They were sheltering in our front yard, between the old apples on the crabapple tree, and the berries on the cotoneaster hedge. Once I realized how many of them were around, there was at least 6 of them, I put out some mealworms. They did seem to enjoy those and cleaned up most of what I put out.

Once the snow finally stopped it started melting pretty quick. I’m thinking it will all be gone by midday tomorrow. Hopefully all the newly migrated birds can get back to normal life of courting and nest building instead of shivering and having to eat constantly to stay warm.
