Fabric & Fairy Lights
I've had this idea in my head for a photo backdrop for about a week now. I finally made myself do it today, and I'm pretty happy with the results. Basically it is strings of fairy lights (I got them from Costco last year: red box, 4 strings in each box, they’re perfect because the wires are super thing and basically invisible in photos) with long pieces of white tulle twisted together and then strung in loops from pins in a couple of nail holes in the wall.
I feel like I'm in a bit of a slump again with my self-portraits. I'm struggling to think of ways to make it them fresh and interesting. Part of it is the season, the outdoors is not quite as accessible in the cold and snow. I'm not likely to go run around in the snow in anything less than my Michelin man coat, so interesting outfits outside are unlikely. We'll see what I come up with over the next while. Perhaps I should start picking a conceptual theme every week and somehow work that into my self-portraits?
